A hard, aromatic bright golden yellow fruit, similar in appearance to a pear. Can be used either cooked or raw. Has a tart astringent flavour.

Quinces are nutritionally valuable. In particular, they are an excellent source of dietary fibre and provide a good amount of vitamin C and potassium.
